Frequently asked questions

A little clarity.

What Seed is, how the concept works, and what is still taking shape.

What is Seed?

Seed is an app designed to turn spare change from everyday purchases into automatic charitable giving.

How do round-ups work?

Seed calculates the difference between an eligible purchase and the next whole dollar. Those amounts accumulate and are periodically donated. A purchase that is already a whole dollar adds no spare change.

Does Seed move money after every purchase?

No. Individual round-ups can accumulate before being processed together rather than creating a separate transfer for every purchase.

Can I choose where my money goes?

The product is being designed to let users choose eligible nonprofits and causes they want to support.

Is Seed only for Muslims?

Seed is being built around sadaqah and Muslim giving, while welcoming anyone who wants to give through a simple round-up model.

Is Seed available yet?

Seed is currently being built. You can join the waitlist for launch updates.

Can nonprofits join Seed?

Organizations interested in becoming available through Seed can express interest by emailing tryseedapp@gmail.com.

Do round-ups count as zakat?

Seed round-ups are designed for voluntary sadaqah. They do not automatically fulfill your zakat obligation.

How will Seed handle my financial information?

The financial connection and privacy architecture are still being finalized. Details about providers, account access, and data handling will be published before launch. This website does not connect financial accounts.

When will Seed launch?

A launch date has not been announced. Seed will share updates as the product gets closer to launch.

Will there be fees or a minimum donation?

Fees, processing thresholds, and donation schedules are still being finalized. These will be explained clearly before you start giving.
